DBS Assembler Begins Production of Segway Electric Dicycles in Brazil

The vehicle is the most used in the world for security in shopping malls and indoor environments.

When visiting a shopping mall you will probably come across a Segway electric dicycle circulating through the mall. It is frequently used by private and public security teams, especially in enclosed spaces with foot traffic, where other vehicles do not perform the job as efficiently.

When the American manufacturer Segway announced the launch of the “personal transporter” in 2001, the news that spread around the world detailed how the innovative “self-balance” technology allows a person to be carried on two wheels, and even to stand still without tipping over. The electronics are so sophisticated that to this day they draw attention and spark curiosity.

PRODUCTION FROM THE USA TO BRAZIL

Twenty years after the start of Segway PT electric dicycle production in the USA, the Brazilian company DBS announces the inauguration of an assembly line for this vehicle in Brazil, at its plant in the Manaus Industrial Hub. The first batch of 50 units was produced in March 2023 for another company in the group, BRMOBILITY.

DBS is projected to produce 100 to 150 electric dicycle units per year over the next 3 years.
