DBS Opens Plant in the PIM for Two-Wheel Electric Vehicle Production in Manaus

Plant debuted the first Electric Kick Scooter produced in Brazil

DBS inaugurated its first industrial plant for manufacturing two-wheel electric vehicles. The debut took place in December 2019, already with the status of the first Electric Kick Scooter produced on Brazilian soil.

The project required an investment of R$ 4.2 million, has three assembly lines and capacity to produce up to 150,000 electric vehicles per year, including dicycles, kick scooters, bicycles, scooters and motorcycles.

Production will serve demand for the own brands DROP and BRMOBILITY and the surplus will go to third-party products under the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) model, reinforcing DBS’s interest in introducing the concept of a “Shared Assembly Plant in the Manaus Industrial Hub”. The goal is to make it viable to produce two-wheeled vehicles with the PIM’s tax benefits for small and medium importers who lack the volume and resources to sustain an industrial plant.
