When visiting a shopping center, you will probably come across a Segway electric personal transporter circulating through the place. It is frequently used by private and public security teams, mainly in indoor environments where there are people circulating, as other vehicles would not meet the teams’ needs with the same efficiency.

When the American manufacturer Segway announced the launch of the personal transporter in 2001, the news that circulated around the world gave details of how the innovative self-balancing technology allows transporting an individual on two wheels, and even remaining stationary, without tipping over. It contained such a sophisticated electronic system that it draws attention and arouses curiosity even today.

PRODUCTION FROM USA TO BRAZIL

After 20 years since the production of the Segway electric personal transporters in the USA started, the Brazilian company DBS announces the inauguration of an assembly line for the model in Brazil at its plant in the Industrial Pole of Manaus. The first batch of 50 units was manufactured in March 2023 for another company of the DBS Group: BRMOBILITY.

The projection is for DBS to produce 100 to 150 units of electric personal transporters per year over the next three years.
