Plant marks the production of Brazil's first domestically manufactured electric scooter

DBS has inaugurated its first industrial plant dedicated to the assembly of electric two-wheeled vehicles at the Polo Industrial de Manaus (PIM). The milestone was reached in December 2019, with the production of the first electric scooter ever manufactured on Brazilian soil.

Investment, Infrastructure, and Production Capacity

The project represented a total investment of R$ 4.2 million and was built to operate at meaningful industrial scale from day one:

• 3 assembly lines fully operational

• Production capacity of up to 150,000 electric vehicles per year

• Product scope covering dicycles, scooters, e-bikes, electric motorcycles, and personal mobility vehicles

A Shared Manufacturing Model, Open to the Market

Production at the Manaus plant is structured to serve both DBS's own brands — DROP and BRMOBILITY — and third-party clients through an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) model.

This approach reflects DBS's broader strategic vision: establishing the concept of a Shared Assembler within the Polo Industrial de Manaus — a manufacturing platform that gives small and mid-sized importers access to the full fiscal benefits of the Free Trade Zone, without the capital burden of building and maintaining their own industrial facility.
