DBS INAUGURATES PLANT IN THE INDUSTRIAL POLE OF MANAUS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ELECTRIC TWO-WHEEL VEHICLES

The plant launched its first electric scooter made in Brazil

São Paulo, January 9, 2020.

DBS inaugurated its first industrial plant for the industrialization of two-wheel electric vehicles. The event took place in December 2019, featuring the first electric scooter produced by the company in the country.

The project required an investment of BRL 4.2 million, has three assembly lines, and the capacity to produce up to 150,000 electric vehicles per year, including personal transporters, scooters, bicycles, electric scooters, and motorcycles.

Its production will meet the demand from its own brands, DROP and BRMOBILITY, whereas the surplus will be reserved for third-party products, in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) model, thus reinforcing DBS’s interest in introducing the concept of “Shared Assembler in the Industrial Pole of Manaus”. This objective enables the production of two-wheel vehicles with tax benefits provided for the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM) for small and medium-sized importers that do not have enough volume and resources to maintains an industrial plant.
